The double four-day weekends generated from Easter and the Royal Wedding are set to spark a surge in travel during April, according to ABTA. The association is expecting members to see a rise in enquiries for longer breaks as there is potential for Brits to have 11 days off work. “The travel industry is united in wishing the happy couple a wonderful wedding and we know our customers will take full advantage of their gift to us of an extra day’s holiday which will mean they only need to book three days leave for an 11 day break,” said Sean Tipton, senior press officer at ABTA. The event will also see a rise in visitors to London over the Easter break. Meanwhile, P&O Cruises and Cunard have announced that the wedding will be screened live from their ships on 29 April.
