TravelRepublic matches On the Beach’s Europe holiday trend

TravelRepublic has revealed that its top selling destinations for the Easter/Royal Wedding break are European beach resorts. Following On the Beach’s announcement that Spain, Portugal and Greece had been selling well for the holiday period, TravelRepublic has confirmed that is has seen an 180 percent rise in bookings to the Costa del Sol. Majorca, Tenerife, Costa Blanca and the Algarve have also sold well on the run-up to the week, with Florida named as the only long-haul destination in the top 10. “Sales are up by an astonishing 59.3% over the same period last year,” said Paul Furner, managing director of TravelRepublic. “The run of bank holidays, and the fact that the Royal Wedding is being screened and celebrated in lots of places outside of the UK, has been too much to resist. Equally, we are also seeing strong demand from those wanting to escape the celebrations completely.”
