TUI Travel has split into four business sectors to show its ‘strategic priorities’. The operators’ mainstream sector will focus on the main power brands, which looks after 143 aircraft and around 3, 5000 retail shops. Meanwhile, the specialist and activity sector will provide experiential travel with an ‘if you dream of it we can take you there’ ethos. In addition, there will be an accommodation and destinations sector to sell hotel rooms, transfers, excursions, cruise handling and MICE operations, as well as an emerging markets sector to focus on Russia and CIS, Brazil, India and China. Meanwhile, the group has announced that Jacky Simmonds has been appointed Group Human Resources Director. She will replace Bill Logan, who is retiring from his role after 12 years.
