A small passenger plane crashed when it was forced to make an emergency landing on Vanuatu. The Airtaxi-Vanuatu Cessna 207 was returning to Port Vila from Tanna Island with five passengers when bad weather and very low visibility prevented landing on the runway. The pilot circled, waiting for the weather to clear, but as the fuel ran down he was forced to put down on a nearby golf course at 6pm Monday. The aircraft crashed when it hit a tee-mount on landing, injuring two passengers. The pilot has been suspended pending and accident investigation, but was praised for his actions by the company owner in an interview with the New Zealand Herald.
