In a report by Ben Stocking forThe Scotsman, the visit will signify Hanoi’s increasing embrace of a market economy, Nguyen Minh Triet and more than 100 businessmen will be witnessing and signing various business deals.
Since the implementation o fthe bilateral trade agreement in 2001, trade has been said to have spiked reaching nearly 5billion pounds last year.
This strategic relationship is important for both countries as China’s growing influence in the region becomes more prominent.
“It’s also very important political relationship.The US is always very anxious to develop diplomatic and economic relationships in south-east Asia” said Jonathan Pincus, a senior economist.
