Yas Links Abu Dhabi has expanded its Golf Academy teaching team with the appointment of Liam Cregan as PGA Golf Professional.Cregan brings 13 years of golfing experience to the highly acclaimed Middle East golf club – the first links course in the region.He arrives at Yas Links having previously benefited from a seven-year spell as PGA Golf Professional at The Belfry, teaching a wide range of golfers, including elite county players, beginners, juniors and corporate groups. He earlier gained a BA (Hons) degree in golf management.Cregan specialises in golf tuition and the custom fitting of equipment, and has been fortunate to learn from PGA Professional mentors such as Alistair Davies, the Ladies European Tour Coach, and Master Professional Gary Allis.”I am delighted to take up this challenging role at such a prestigious golf club as Yas Links, and at such an exciting time in its young history,” said Liam Cregan. “The club has already carved out an enviable global reputation thanks to its spectacular championship golf course and world-class Golf Academy facilities, and I look forward to helping my colleagues build the club into one of the very finest, not just in this region but the world. “Many of our visitors, including leading European Tour Pros, have shown they are keen to take advantage of our state-of-the-art Golf Academy and practice facilities – and I look forward to welcoming and working with golfers of all abilities to help fine-tune their game.Yas Links’ teaching and practice facilities include a nine-hole, par-3 Academy course, floodlit driving range, hitting bays, short-game chipping and bunker practice zone, and two indoor swing studios.
