Queue the music, slip into the driver’s seat, press the push-start button and unleash the roar of the Aston Martin’s engine as you head for the spectacular Alpine passes in true James Bond style with Swiss based, luxury tour operator, Ultimate Drives (www.UltimateDrives.net). The cars do not have rear bulletproof shields but they do offer the ultimate in luxury alpine travel in everything from a Mini Cooper to Ferrari F430 Spider or a BMW Z4 to a Bentley Continental Convertible.
This week Ultimate Drives launches the new range of ‘Switzerland & Beyond’
driving breaks – the ultimate cocktail of high performance cars cruising along some of the best driving roads in Europe and finishing in pampered 5 star luxury like the Eden Roc or Widder Hotels. Personally planned itineraries are pre- programmed into the cars navigation system which allow customers the freedom to explore at their own pace.
Mark Heather, the founder of Ultimate Drives, is passionate about his new venture. “I love Switzerland and the Alps and I have driven and explored every one of these routes, an experience which inspired me to share this drivers’
paradise with other like minded enthusiasts,” he said.
The Ultimate Drives web site (www.ultimatedrives.net) aims to also become the definitive source for the “best driving roads” in and around the European Alpine region. Routes which have been personally assessed and rated, together with accompanying photos and videos, will be available online to download to your computer or navigation unit whether you are booking a Ultimate Drives break or not.
Inspirational driving through the lush green landscape of the Alpine Passes, the Black Forest, or the Italian Lakes, passed waterfalls and glaciers, through breathtaking mountain passes, gorges, river valleys and lakeside vistas, to quaint historic villages and castles. There is a delight to behold around every bend, not to mention the locally produced, chocolate, cheese and wine to be sampled along the way.
