A Fair Tax on Flying’s new campaign prompted more than 1,000 people to write a letter to their MP on APD levels.
The new campaign has urged all those who are against the rising taxes to sign a pre-written form to their MP to rally up support for lower fees.
Darren Caplan, chief executive of the Airport Operators Association said he was delighted with its “strong start” but reminded that it is aiming for 100,000 signatures to make sure it is heard.
“But there is still a long, long way to go and we need many more people to spend just a few seconds visiting www.afairtaxoflying.org and sending the email template to their MP to tell them that Air Passenger Duty (APD) is now too high,” he added. “It’s not until tens of thousands of people have sent the email that MPs will have to take notice of their constituents”.
