Marriott has added more rooms and facilities to its resort in Sanya, following the completion of its new East Wing.

The new wing at Sanya Marriott Hotel Dadonghai Bay, which marks the final phase of the resort’s construction, will see the addition of 160 rooms, a giant glass lobby with waterfalls and gardens, new restaurants, leisure facilities and extra space for meetings and events.

“With the completion of the East Wing our original vision for the Sanya Marriott Hotel Dadonghai Bay has finally become a reality,” said Julian Wong, the resort’s GM. “The elevated experience afforded by these new facilities significantly boosts our appeal among the discerning millennials and Generation X and Y’ers who constitute our core market.”

The new East Wing rooms all come equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows and large private balconies. The 6,000m² glass lobby is spread across two levels and features the ‘Great Room’ concept, where guests can dine and socialise amongst waterfalls and gardens.

This area features three F&B outlets, including the China Baking Company, Yogurt Inc and a lobby lounge, while the new wing is also home to two new restaurants: Man Ho, which specialises in Hong Kong and Shandong cuisine, and Smoki Moto, a Japanese and Korean outlet.

Other new facilities in the East Wing include an executive lounge, a 700m² kids’ club which features a climbing wall, a spa, and rooms for snooker and table tennis. And for the MICE market, the East Wing also adds a new 1,000m² lawn for outdoor event, a bridal room and a 188m² function room. These complement a collection of existing meeting rooms and a 916m² ballroom.

Following the completion of the resort’s final phase, Sanya Marriott Hotel Dadonghai Bay now offers a total of 452 rooms and suites.
