A new GBP7.5 million investment has been announced for The Langham London ahead of its 150th anniversary next year.
Three new areas are due to launch as part of the upgrade to the hotel, which is its most extensive since 2009 when it was reopened after a GBP80m refurbishment.
When completed next year the hotel will feature the new Regent Wing, which will see the Club win reworked to have 46 rooms and suites all decorated in the Regency period style.
Each room will have more than 33 square-metres of space each while one private apartment will occupy an entire floor with up to four rooms aimed at the longer-stay market.
The new Sterling Suite will also open in April 2015 with up to six bedrooms and other rooms covering 450 square-metres of space. The suite will have a personal butler service; private media lounge and special security features.
Work has also commenced on the new Langham Club Lounge that will feature private check-in/check-out; an adult-only Drawing Room and library. Complimentary services will include internet access; pressing of three items of clothing; three hours use of ‘The Loft’ private event space; full daily breakfast; all-day refreshments; afternoon tea; early evening cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
Duncan Palmer, managing director and regional vice president Europe said: “This renovation will be key in elevating The Langham, London to the next echelon of luxury. The Regent Wing will be a sanctuary for guests who prefer the feeling of a private and discrete residence whilst The Langham Club Lounge and Sterling Suite will provide the ultimate in luxury amenities and service aimed at the most discerning clientele”.
