An Indonesian passenger plane has collided with a herd of cows on a runway in West Flores, it has been revealed. Kompas.com reported that the BAE 146/200 plane, operated by AviaStar Jet, was carrying 44 passengers and six crew from Komodo to Bali last week, when it plowed into the cattle which were grazing on Labuan Bajo Komodo Airport’s grass take-off strip. The aircraft struck three of the grazing cows, damaging the aircraft’s front landing gear. No passengers were reported hurt, but the bovine beasts were not so lucky – all three errant cows were killed.
