Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced that its Green Key Eco-Rating Programme will be rolled out across its properties outside of the US. The initiative has been extended following a successful year, in which hotel are awarded up to five keys for their sustainable efforts. “Guests around the world continue to demand environmental sensitivity when they travel, so when the Green Key Programme expanded internationally from its Canadian roots it made perfect sense to enrol our entire portfolio of hotels,” said Fairmont’s President Chris Cahill. “Our hotels have implemented an incredible number of green initiatives over the past 20 years, and this rating system is a great way for them to audit, benchmark and even further reduce their environmental footprint.”
