Garuda Indonesia has entered into an agreement to lease six Airbus A320 from GE Capital Aviation Services Limited (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing company. The narrow-body jets, which are scheduled for delivery from the first half of 2013, will be operated by Garuda’ low-cost subsidiary, Citilink.
The agreement was signed by Citilink’s Executive Vice President of Finance, CEO Elisa Lumbantoruan, and GECAS Asia Pacific’s Vice President of Sales, David Settergen. It was witnessed by Emirsyah Satar, President & CEO Garuda Indonesia, and Norman Liu, President & CEO of GECAS.
“This agreement is part of Garuda’s ongoing fleet revitalisation with brand new aircraft from Airbus and Boeing,” said Satar. “These aircraft will help modernise Citilink with new, reliable aircraft.”
In June 2011 Garuda signed a deal with Airbus for the purchase of 25 A320 and A320neo aircraft, to be operated by Citilink.
