The family and children zoo ‘Kids Park’ has renamed the park in Al Bahia, which will now be officially known as Emirates Park Zoo. Commemorating the 40th National Day, this step is in alignment with the UAE government’s vision to position Abu Dhabi as a globally recognized tourist destination. The park also announced that it is undergoing significant expansion.
The zoo aims to raise awareness of the environment and its significance, while striving to instil in children a sense of commitment and care for their pets, bringing them closer to a better understanding of animals.
The zoo is also currently undergoing significant expansion with the addition of new facilities. Work is underway to relocate the main entrance to the park, and the new facilities will eventually include a souvenir shop and first children’s dental clinic in the UAE, a children’s hairdresser, 35 chalets offering views over the animal enclosures, in addition to an indoor aqua park, a dedicated play area, a hotel, a heritage village, an equestrian school, and a collection of international food chains. The plans will also see an increase in the variety and numbers of animals bringing their number up to 2000 animals, and will include the first green anaconda in the UAE, hippopotamus, sea lions, swans, and many more.
