SIA to add third daily A380 flight to London
Singapore Airlines (SIA) will add a third daily Airbus A380 service on the Singapore-London route from June 2012.
Currently, two of the airline’s three daily London Heathrow flights are operated with the superjumbo, with the other using a Boeing 777-300ER. But from 1 June 2012, all three daily services will be operated by the 471-seat A380.
The switch to the larger A380 will increase seat capacity on the route by 17% per day.
London was the first destination in Europe to receive the SIA’s superjumbo in March 2008. This was increased to double-daily A380 operations six months later.
SIA currently operates the A380 to 10 destinations: Sydney, London, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Zurich, Los Angeles, Frankfurt and New York
