Tour operators in the UK have welcomed new flights to Turkey and North Cyprus from a private airline based in the country.
Atlasjet has filled a gap in the market left by Cyprus Turkish Airlines, which collapsed in 2010 and limited access to the region. Direct Traveller and Anatolian Sky Holidays have now welcomed Atlasjet’s new connections from Stansted to Instanbul and Antalya.
“AtlasJet have given us a much welcomed increase in capacity to North Cyprus, with their tour operator rates allowing us to plan and develop our capacity for 2012,” said Ramadan Ozdemir from Direct Traveller. “Traditionally Stansted is a competitive airport for North Cyprus flights, mainly due to the large Turkish Cypriot community close to the area. The Stansted departures, however, have an advantage for us in the sense that they allow us to cater for clients from London up to Birmingham with ease”.
