Movers and shakers in the travel industry this week.
Alexandra Sanchez has been named as commercial manager at Air Europa. Sanchez has 12 years aviation experience including roles at Air Partner, Afriqiyah Airways, Mexicana Airlines and KL Aviation Services. She will now work with travel companies and operators to increase sales and awareness.
Gill Collier has been appointed in the new role of director of account management at Conferma. Collier joins the booking, settlement and reconciliation technology provider from NIS Europe/Expotel and will support TMCs in her new role.
Jeac-Marc Crescent has become vice president, global account sales as part of Etihad’s global sales reshuffle in the Europe, Middle East and Asia markets. In addition, Joost den Hartog has been named vice president of Europe based in Berlin and current general manager of France Adam Phillips has been promoted to vice president – Asia Pacific North.
Christopher Luxon has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of Air New Zealand. Luxon, who currently serves as the airline’s group general manager for international, will replace Rob Fyfe when the current CEO steps down in December.
Samuel G. Gacos has been named director of sales and marketing at The Caravelle Hotel, Saigon. Gacos joins the hotel as it prepares for its complete renovation and has previously worked for Maila Hotels, Shangri-La, Hilton, GHM and the Sutera Harbour Resort Group.
Marc Brugger has been appointed managing director of Rosewood Beijing – the new luxury hotel scheduled to open 2013. Brugger brings 20 years’ luxury hotel experience to the role, most recently as General Manager of Crown Towers Hotel & Casino Macau.
