Qatar Airways will display its 787 at the show

Boeing has announced that its B787 Dreamliner will participate in flying displays at the Farnborough Airshow later this month.

The new aircraft flew into the 2010 edition of the UK air show and was on static display, but this year will mark the first time the Dreamliner has taken part in flight demonstrations.

In addition, Qatar Airways has announced it will unveil its version of the Dreamliner at the event, which takes place between 9 and 15 July. The aircraft will be on static display on the first three days of the show, while Boeing will also offer daily show displays. Qatar Airways has already showed the business and economy seats of its 787 at ITB Berlin and Arabian Travel Market.

“For Qatar Airways, the Farnborough International Air Show provides the perfect opportunity and global platform to proudly reveal our new 787 to the aviation industry and the wider public for the first time,” said Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways. “As the Middle East launch customer, we’re very excited that a new era of air travel with an unrivalled passenger experience is imminent, further proving Qatar Airways’ commitment to expand with one of the youngest and technically advanced fleets in the industry”.

In addition, Korean Air will display its new B737-900ER at the event.
