AirAsia X opens Kathmandu for online bookings
AirAsia X has opened online bookings for its new Kuala Lumpur-Kathmandu flights.
The service commenced on 3 July, but for the first two months tickets will only be sold via selected agents in Malaysia and Nepal. Flights for 1 September onwards however, are now available for booking via airasia.com.
AirAsia X operates the route twice a week (Tuesday and Thursdays) using an Airbus A330-300. Flights depart Kuala Lumpur at 1140, arriving at Kathmandu at 1400. The return leg will leave the Nepal at 1530, getting back into KL at 2225.
“We see a strong tourism potential for the Kuala Lumpur to Nepal route and vice versa which has lead to our decision to start selling our flights online. This is proven with our 100% load factor during our inaugural flight from Kathmandu to Kuala Lumpur on 3 July,” said Azran Osman-Rani, CEO of AirAsia X.
“Our flight into Nepal will foster new business travellers between Southeast Asia and Nepal. We see strong feeder traffic between the two countries and our goal has always been to make international travel affordable for everyone. In the near future, we are also looking at increasing our flight frequencies from Kuala Lumpur to Kathmandu.”
