Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC) recently launched its Academy page on its website (emiratesgbc.org/egbc/emirates/index.php), providing technical papers and resources on sustainability. A one-stop-source for publications related to green building practices, the new page offers resource to the industry.

Over 300 technical reports, by different authors, are available online and can be easily searched. The Academy page was created in collaboration with various global and regional Green Building councils, strategic partners and other industry stakeholders.

Adnan Sharafi, EmiratesGBC Chairman, said: “One of our primary goals is to strengthen awareness on sustainable built environments. Serving as a link between various organisations working in the sector and the industry, we continuously update our members and the public at large on various measures to reduce environmental impact of buildings.”

Adding further HE Hamad Buamim, director general, Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, said: “Through our green initiatives, we have been able to reduce water and energy consumption by 77% and 47% respectively, leading to accumulated savings of around AED7.1 million between 1998 and 2008.”
