MSC Cruises has recently announced that MSC Divina is officially ‘gluten-free friendly’ and has been qualified to serve gluten-free products by the Italian Celiac Association (AIC).
Following in the wake of MSC Fantasia, MSC Splendida, MSC Magnifica, MSC Orchestra, MSC Poesia and MSC Musica, MSC’s new flagship will be named a legitimate partner in the AIC’s ‘Alimentazione Fuori Casa’, their eating-out network.
People with celiac disease have an immune reaction when they eat any food containing gluten, a common protein found in wheat, barley and rye and any products using these ingredients such as bread, pasta, cakes, biscuits and sauces.
MSC follows strict regulations for preparing its gluten-free menus on board. Gluten-free products are stored in special areas and at least one kitchen on each ship, managed by specially trained staff, is reserved for the preparation of gluten-free dishes. The Gluten free menus are available in English, Italian, French, German and Spanish in the restaurant on deck five and six as well as in the Yacht Club restaurant.
