The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has opened its first Radisson Blu hotel in Chongqing.

Located in the Nan’an district of the Chinese city, the new Radisson Blu Plaza Chongqing has 308 rooms and suites with views across the Yangtze River. The hotel will cater strongly to the MICE market, with several meeting rooms, a conference center and a pillarless ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,000 people.

Other facilities include a fitness centre, yoga room, heated indoor swimming pool and four F&B outlets, including a Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant and sushi bar and a Chinese restaurant.

“The opening of Radisson Blu Plaza Chongqing marks the steady growth of the Radisson Blu brand and Carlson Rezidor’s presence in China. With a total of 16 scheduled hotels openings for 2012 in Asia Pacific, we are well on track with our growth strategy to strengthen our portfolio in this fast growing region,” said Simon Barlow, Carlson Rezidor’s President for Asia Pacific.

With the addition of Radisson Blu Plaza Chongqing, Carlson Rezidor will have 80 hotels operating in the Asia Pacific region and another 76 under development.
