EVA Air will soon commence flights to its second destination on the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido.

From 28 October, the Taiwanese carrier will fly direct from Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport to Hakodate, the port city in southern Hokkaido. Flights will initially operate twice a week (Wednesdays and Sundays), with a third weekly service being added from December 2012. All flights will be operated using a 252-seat Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

EVA already operates flights to Hokkaido’s largest city, Sapporo, and when the Hakodate services launch it will provide close to 3,000 seats a week between Hokkaido and Taiwan – more than any other airline.
