Lufthansa cancelled more than 200 flights from its Frankfurt hub yesterday (4 Sept) after cabin crew announced further strikes at Munich and Berlin.

The German carrier grounded 217 flights out of 270 from Frankfurt with short and medium-haul flights the worse affected. Delays were also in place as the airline battled with staff, who are striking over pay and conditions.

Strikes in Berlin and Frankfurt stopped earlier today while action will continue until 10pm tonight (5 Sept) in Munich. Cancellations are still taking place today including Manchester to Frankfurt at 6.55am.

According to the Bangkok Post, Austrian Airlines helped out its partner by flying larger planes, while Lufthansa has been in a battle of words with union UFO. Further strikes are expected this Friday (7 Sept) for 24 hours with Lufthansa offering up-to-date information through its website and Twitter.
