The Ministry of Culture has said that no infestation by termites has been observed in the foundation of the Taj Mahal in Agra. 
In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, India’s Minister for Culture, Kumari Selja said conservation work of the Taj Mahal is attended regularly and it is in good state of preservation. The ministry has allocated INR1.3 crore for the conversation of the monument for the financial year 2012-13.
