Aviation security top on agenda for UAE

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) places significant emphasis on aviation security and building on this focus, a high-level delegation representing UAE aviation sector will be headed-off to Canada to participate in the ‘High Level Security Conference’.
Organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) from September 12th – 14th, the conference will have HE Engineer Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), accompanied by HE Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of GCAA, Capt. Aysha Al Hamili, Permanent Representative of UAE to ICAO and Eng. Aws Al Khinjari, Executive Directors of Aviation Security Affairs at GCAA.
The conference highlights the importance of right aviation security and is attended by over 190 states. Key security trends and new global regulation policies are discussed. The UAE is an active member of the ICAO council and stressed on the significance of deliberating with the international community. HE Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of GCAA, said that aviation security was topmost priority. .
Other areas of discussion include present and future challenges to aviation security; reach global consensus on key aviation security priorities among others.
