Sri Lanka’s tourist arrivals rose 9.7% in August 2012 to 79,456 visitors from a year earlier. According to the data revealed by the country, in the first 
eight months of August, Indian arrivals were up only 1% to 108,232 visitors as compared to 45% growth (107,201) visitors from January-August 2011.
