A visit to Qutub Minar could get tourists an e-ticket for the entry at the tourist attraction. As a part of the automisation programme, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will introduce a trial run of e-ticketing at the Qutub Minar starting today (01 Oct) till 31 October.
During the trial run, e-ticket for individuals and also group of visitors may be purchased from the ticket counters at Qutub Minar, while manual tickets will not be available. The system to be tested will be based upon the bar-code technology as it is simple and easy to use. It is proposed to take care of better accounting of revenue collected, store data on visitors and minimise malpractices in the current manual system.
Qutub Minar is the tallest minaret in India constructed with red sandstone and marble.
