Indonesian hotel company PHM Hospitality has commenced work on a new midscale hotel in Yogyakarta.
The 101 Hotel Mangkubumi Yogyakarta will become only the second 101-branded property in Indonesia, following The 101 Legian in Bali. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of 2013.
“This brand will be suitable for Yogyakarta needs to accommodate the growing middle class market who travelling to Yogyakarta either for business or leisure,” said Kristian Kuntadi, Managing Director of PHM Hospitality. “We believe The 101 Mangkubumi Yogyakarta will be a booster to uplift Yogyakarta tourism [and help it] become more attractive and sexy.”
The new 154-room hotel will be located on Mangkubumi Road, in the central Malioboro area of Yogyakarta. Facilities will include a swimming pool, restaurant, gym and spa.
