VietJet to launch new domestic routes
Vietnam’s new low-cost carrier, VietJet Air, will launch four new domestic routes before the end of 2012.
Services between Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and Vinh, in north-central Vietnam, will commence on 15 November, one week before the launch of HCMC-Hue flights on 22 November. Then on 7 December, VietJet will commence flights between Hanoi and the Central Highlands city of Dalat, and on 20 December a new route will connect HCMC with the southern resort island of Phu Quoc.
VietJet will also raise the frequency of four existing routes. HCMC-Nha Trang will rise to twice daily, while the HCMC-Danang service will increase to three times a day. Hanoi-Danang will rise to twice daily, and the key HCMC-Hanoi route will increase to eight daily flights.
“VietJetAir is committed to doing its best to improve and develop the domestic aviation industry for the benefits of travelers in Vietnam and visitors from abroad,” said Desmond Lin, VietJetAir’s Director of Business Development.
VietJet Air launched in late 2011 and now operates a fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.
