Royal Caribbean (RCL) and its subsidiary, Celebrity Cruises, has launched a new training module in a bid to urge agents to brush up on their 2013 offering.

In total, five ships will be stationed in the UK for the two companies with more European itineraries than ever before. The new training module is designed to ensure that agents are fully educated on all the new developments.

The module, which will be on the firm’s Cruising for Excellence program, will include interactive games, visual training sessions, quizzes and videos.

“Our training module focusing on the new 2013 UK and Mediterranean sailings is exciting news for all travel agents,” said Michelle Russell trade training manager for Royal Caribbean International. “2013 marks the first time ever we’ve had five ships sailing from UK ports of call and this module provides agents with the perfect opportunity to brush up on all the new itineraries and first-time destinations our cruise line’s will visit next summer. It’s no surprise that agents who continue to stay up to date with the latest Cruising for Excellence training modules sell the most cruises and with that in mind we’re urging agents to complete the new module at their nearest convenience. It’s quick, focused, and contains all that agents need to help them sell next year’s summer sailings with the utmost confidence. The additional modules that take agents through our revitalised ships will ultimately help them sell more of the ‘value’ guests receive on our cruises.”

Royal Caribbean will be offering 276 voyages from 88 ports across 56 European itineraries in 2013. For the UK specifically Adventure of the Seas, Independence of the Seas and Brilliance of the Seas will all be sailing from the UK; for Celebrity, Eclipse and Infinity will be based Southampton and Harwich respectively.

Cruising for Excellence has trained 20,000 agents to date, half of which have graduated to the highest tier of the training programme.
