Langham Hospitality Group has expanded its footprint in China with the launch of its first two properties in the port city of Qingdao – Langham Place and Eaton Luxe Rio Carnival, Qingdao.

Located in the Rio Carnival area of the city – a new hub for hotels, restaurants, retail and entertainment – the two hotels will feature a total of 700 guestrooms, duplex villas and lofts in a twin tower development. Facilities will include the brand’s Ming Court and Yat Tung Heen Chinese restaurants, the group’s Chuan Spa, four ballrooms and a range of function rooms.

“We bring to Qingdao a heritage of 150 years of luxury hospitality with the new Langham Place and Eaton Luxe,” said Brett Butcher, CEO of Langham Hospitality Group. “The Langham history dates back to 1865 when our flagship hotel, The Langham London, opened as Europe’s first grand hotel. We believe that it is this heritage of luxury hospitality that was built over time that sets us apart from the competition.”

Langham Place Rio Carnival Qingdao and Eaton Luxe Rio Carnival Qingdao will both open in 2013.
