Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet Air has unveiled a new Airbus A320 aircraft at Ho Chi Minh City’s (HCMC) Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

The aircraft – which becomes the fourth in VietJet’s fleet – comes as the airline aims to significantly expand its route network by the end of 2012.

“We are proud to now operate the most modern fleet in the country with the biggest network for a low-cost carrier in Vietnam as of the end of 2012. We are on track to bringing our valued customers the most varied and highest quality choices for travelling in terms of destinations and flight schedules. Plus, we have the… most affordable flights in the country,” said Pritam Singh, deputy general director of VietJet Air.

Launched last year, VietJet now offers flights to HCMC, Hanoi, Danang and Haiphong. But before the end of the year the airline intends to commence new routes to Nha Trang, Dalat, Vinh and Phu Quoc, before potentially launching international services in 2013.
