PHG plans to increase India portfolio

The Preferred Hotel Group (PHG) is looking at increasing its Indian hotels portfolio.
The group however will choose its partners after cautiously looking at each hotel and evaluate the category it fits in PHG’s product line.
Saurabh Rai Bhatnagar, Regional Director for South Asia at PHG said, “The focused growth since 2002 with one property has today led to 29 members spread over multiple cities in India. We are keen to have our presence in Ahmedabad and Kolkata, while Tier II and III cities are also on the radar.
During the third quarter of 2012, the group added 24 new members, bringing year to date growth to 65 new member hotels. The company also saw a 12 percent increase year-to-date in reservations booked via its diverse distribution channels, in comparison to this time last year.
The group offers Preferred Hotels and Resorts, Preferred Boutique, Summit Hotels and Resorts, Sterling Hotels, Sterling Design, Preferred Residences and Summit Service Residences.
