Hyatt has entered into a management agreement for a new Park Hyatt hotel in Qingdao, the port city in northeast China’s Shandong province.
Expected to open in 2016, Park Hyatt Qingdao will be located on Shandong Road, in the city’s central business district. The hotel will form part of City Crossing complex, a mixed used development that will incorporate high-end residential buildings, serviced apartments, office space and retail outlets. The hotel will be located on the upper levels of a 250-metre-high skyscraper with office space underneath. Facilities will include 247 rooms, several restaurants and bars, meeting space, a fitness centre, swimming pool and spa.
“Qingdao is a key economic powerhouse… and is also a popular tourist destination and a renowned summer retreat,” said Larry Tchou, Hyatt’s Group President for Asia Pacific. “We believe Park Hyatt Qingdao will deliver an unprecedented level of luxury and unrivalled hospitality experience to guests visiting this bustling gateway city. This hotel is our seventh hotel project with China Resources Land Limited, which is significant because it further underscores our relationship with this organisation, as well as our commitment to creating preference by enhancing distribution of Hyatt-branded hotels throughout China, a market where our guests are frequently travelling.”
Park Hyatt Qingdao will become the second Hyatt hotel in the port city, following the opening of Hyatt Regency Qingdao later this year.
