VietJet expands fleet
VietJet Air has taken delivery of a new Airbus A320 aircraft.
The narrow-body jet touched down at Ho Chi Minh City’s (HCMC) Tan Son Nhat International Airport yesterday (Wednesday 14 November), becoming the fifth A320 in the Vietnamese low-cost carrier’s fleet. One more A320 is expected to arrive before the end of the year.
VietJet said the new aircraft will ensure it “meets its network expansion schedule for 2012 with more internal connections to be launched soon”. These new routes will include HCMC-Vinh (launching today, 15 November), HCMC-Hue (22 November), HCMC-Phu Quoc (20 December) and Hanoi-Dalat (7 December), taking VieJet’s total domestic network to nine routes connecting seven Vietnamese destinations. The airline is also planning to launch its first international flights, between HCMC and Bangkok, early next year.
The new aircraft has been decorated with images of the airline’s cabin crew.
“First and foremost, we are delighted to add one more new Airbus plane to our fleet and we are also especially excited that are incredible cabin crew can continue to symbolise VietJet Air’s core attractions both on the outside of the plane and onboard when serving our customers,” said Pritam Singh, Deputy General Director of VietJetAir. “VietJet Air is a new generation airline and our wonderful stewards symbolise our vitality and commitment to offering dynamic and professional services.
“With our modernised fleet of Airbus aircraft, our excellent customer services and convenient payment systems, we can now continue to serve our growing customer base with the highest quality services at the most affordable costs possible,” Singh added.
