Qatar Airways has expanded its Boeing 787 Dreamliner routes in Europe, with the deployment of the new aircraft to three new destinations – Munich, Zurich and Frankfurt.

The Doha-based carrier has already started flying the Dreamliner on the Munich route four times a week, while three weekly Dreamliner flights to Zurich commenced yesterday (14 January 2013).

Then, from 1 February 2013, one of the airline’s two daily services to Frankfurt will be served by a B787.

The addition of the three cities to Qatar Airways’ Dreamliner network follows the aircraft’s European debut to London Heathrow in December 2012. The B787 now operates one of the five daily flights to the UK’s busiest airport.

Also from 1 February 2013, Qatar Airways will deploy the B787 on its daily service to Perth, becoming the first airline to operate Dreamliner flights to Australia.

“As an airline we are always striving to enhance the passenger experience in the skies by offering improved connectivity with convenient scheduling and an all-round new in-flight product which makes a significant impact on travel decisions,” said Qatar Airways’ Chief Executive Officer, Akbar Al Baker.

“In addition to introducing new routes, we are also relentlessly focused on improving the passenger experience when travelling with Qatar Airways. This is why there is so much hype around our Boeing 787 – it offers the travelling public a second-to-none flying experience straight through from comfort, to entertainment to gastronomy.”

Qatar Airways’ Dreamliner features 254 seats in two classes – business and economy. The airline currently operates four B787s, with a further 56 pending delivery.
