GEORGE HARB has been announced as Travelport’s new Managing Director for China. Harb has been working for Travelport for more than seven years, serving as the company’s Marketing Director for Asia Pacific, before being promoted to Commercial Director for Asia in 2007.
MARTIN SYMES has been appointed Vice President of Marketing for Abacus International. A 20-year travel industry veteran, Symes joins from travel search site Wego, where he was Chairman & CEO. Prior to that, he was the Executive Director of Commercial for online travel giant, Zuji.
DAVID CUMMING has become the new Vice President of Operational Development for Thailand’s Onyx Hospitality Group. With 25 years’ hospitality experience, Cumming has been with the company since 2004, working at the Amari Watergate Bangkok and Amari Orchid Pattaya hotels.
SIMON DELL has been named as Onyx’s new Vice President of Operations for North Asia, as well as being General Manager of the Ozo Wesley Hong Kong. A UK national, Dell joined Onyx in 2008 as Executive Assistant Manager of Amari Orchid Pattaya, before being named GM of the Amari Vogue Krabi.
RICHARD STYLES has been appointed as Cheaptickets.sg’s new Director of Industry Relations for Asia. Styles brings more than 14 years’ experience to the role, in the Australian, UK and Singapore markets. He previously worked with FCm Travel Solutions for more than 10 years.
CHRISTOPH LEONHARD has been appointed General Manager of the Amari Hua Hin. A German national with more than 17 years of hospitality experience, Leonhard rejoined the company in 2009 as GM of the Amari Palm Reef in Koh Samui. He has also worked in Germany and the USA.
MARTIN KUNZMANN has been selected has the new General Manager of Amari Palm Reef Koh Samui. He joined Amari in 2007 as Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, and moved to properties in Krabi and Koh Chang before arriving at Amari Palm Reef Koh Samui as Resident Manager.
BRENDAN DALY has been announced as the new General Manager of the Amari Orchid Pattaya. Daly brings more than 12 years of hotel experience to the new role, including spells with Accor and Starwood in Thailand. He most recent served as General Manager of the Aloft Hotel Bangkok.
ANDREW LEITH has been appointed General Manager for Bali Kuta Resort by Swiss-Belhotel. A New Zealand national, Leith started his hotel career in 1999 as Assistant Residential Manager for a property in Auckland. He has also worked in Australia, Fiji and the Maldives.
SYLVAIN CROISE has been announced as the new General Manager of the Swiss-Belhotel Mangga Besar in Jakarta. A French national, Croise most recently served as GM of a five-star resort in Malaysia, and also has experience in the luxury cruise and yachting industry.
HERRY FIRMANSYAH has been appointed General Manager of the Swiss-Belhotel Tarakan in the Indonesian province of East Kalimantan. Firmansyah has 12 years of experience in hotel operations, starting out as a housekeeping attendant and working his way up through the ranks.
NIKKI WOODWARD has been appointed as China Southern Airlines’ new Sales Development Executive for Queensland, based in Brisbane. A Queenslander by birth, Ms Woodward has 10 years’ experience including spells with Flight Centre, World Aviation and Air Tickets.
