In an effort to strengthen ties between Sharjah and Switzerland, a delegation from Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) recently concluded a visit to Switzerland.
The visit involved meetings with a number of key public and private organisations in a bid to strengthen business and investment ties.
Shurooq showcased detailed and exclusive information on four key sectors – travel, leisure, healthcare, logistics and transportation, and environment, highlighting significant business and investment potential in vital areas. The authority also discussed possibility of providing strategic partnerships with government sectors or private firms operating in the emirate, and facilities that could be provided by the Authority and other government departments.
Today, Switzerland counts the UAE as its most important trading partner in the region. Tourism between the nations is also flourishing, with the number of visas issued for UAE residents to visit Switzerland totalling 14,000 in 2012.
