British Airways has announced it will deploy its first Airbus A380 to the Heathrow-Los Angeles route.
Services on the new aircraft are due to start on 15 October with bookings available now.
Its second A380 will be to Hong Kong with bookings being taken from 15 November.
The A380 will carry 469 passengers at a time in four cabins with the interiors used for its B777-300ER fleet.
“This will be a very special premiere. London and Los Angeles are two world-leading cities, and we are proud to be the first airline to connect them with the A380,” said Keith Williams, chief executive at BA.
