Carnival brand Princess Cruises has announced that it is to increase commission levels to 10% effective as of 14 March 2013.

The company, which is part of Complete Cruise Solutions along with P&O and Cunard, had originally lowered its commission levels to 5% along with the two other brands.

Cunard and P&O will not be raising their commission levels while Princess’ 10% commission will replace the current air and groups commission structure.

Paul Ludlow, Princess Cruises UK director, said, “Princess has already received a fantastic response from our agents. We look forward to continuing a successful relationship with our existing agents and welcoming new partners to the Princess brand in what is a very exciting couple of years for us, with the introduction of Royal Princess in June and welcoming Regal Princess in 2014”.

Ian Warren of GoCruise commented: “From a personal point of view I think that it is a good move, as it will make it more worthwhile for me to sell their cruises. My only concern is that it could lead to more discounting again.”

The line is now contacting its travel partners to discuss the change.
