Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts has signed a new hot spring resort close to the Chinese city of Chongqing.
Opening this summer close to the Jinyun Mountain Natural Reserve, 40 minutes’ drive from the city of Chongqing, the Banyan Tree Chongqing Beibei will feature 107 suites and villas, designed in the style of traditional folk houses with bamboo-lined courtyards, dark wood furnishings and lacquer artworks. All rooms feature private hot spring pools.
The resort will also feature a large Banyan Tree spa with seven different outdoor and indoor hot spring pools with waters at a constant temperature of 38⁰C, plus nine treatment rooms, a gymnasium and yoga room.
The resort will also feature five F&B venues including a Chinese restaurant, cigar bar and pool bar, and a Banyan Tree Gallery retail outlet.
Banyan Tree currently has seven properties in China, in Hangzhou, Tianjin, Shanghai, Sanya, Macau, Lijiang and Ringa, Yunnan province. But this portfolio is expected to expand to more than 20 properties in the next few years with openings planned across the country, including a second property in Chongqing.
