Qatar Airways has refreshed its online travel training site and launched a new dedicated section for corporate agents after running the industry’s most successful airline training programme in 2009, with close to 1,500 delegates passing the exam with flying colours. Unveiled at the two-day Business Travel and Meetings Show in London this week, the new-look website offers a tailored training programme for business travel agents for the first time, as well as updated modules for leisure agents, which include all the recent product enhancements and the newest routes on the Qatar Airways’ network. The online travel training site will also act as an invaluable tool for both business and leisure agents, helping them to keep up-to-date with the latest news from Qatar Airways, including global developments with the airline and UK focused initiatives and incentives. The new site also contains information on Qatar Airways’ exclusive Premium Terminal at its Doha hub, as well as information on the carrier’s highly successful Q-Biz programme, which allows small and medium-sized companies and their employees to jointly earn frequent flyer air miles from the airline’s Privilege Club loyalty programme for their flights. Rachel Finn, Qatar Airways’ UK Country Manager, said: “Despite the leisure focus of our programme in 2009, 11% of those who took the course identified themselves as Business Travel Agents, so we recognised the need to further cater to the business travel community. “We are delighted to be able to offer business travel agents their own dedicated modules and hope that the site proves to be an invaluable tool helping them to sell and gain more product knowledge of our award-winning service.” As part of the re-launch of the online training site, Qatar Airways is offering all agents who complete the four modules until March 31, the chance to win two tickets on any of the airline’s routes to the Middle East or Indian Ocean. The corporate sales team will also be able to arrange local incentives with managers to encourage more agents to participate in the programme. Interested parties should contact their account manager or in-house support team. Delegates can access the training programme through the Online Travel Training Site, or links through TTG Knowledge College, GTMC or Advantage intranets. The site is free to use and successful candidates can download a certificate on completion of the course.
