Banyan Tree has announced that it will open a new Angsana-branded hot spring resort in southern China’s Yunnan province this summer.
Located in a mountainous part of western Yunnan, close to the border with Myanmar, Angsana Tengchong Hot Spring Village will offer 28 suites with balconies, and nine villas with private hot spring tubs and some also offering plunge pools. The resort will also include an Angsana Spa and 43 indoor and outdoor hot spring pools.
The 28 Hot Spring Retreats measure 70m² and feature rattan furniture and private sunken hot spring tubs on the balconies, which overlook surrounding terraced farmland. Four Deluxe Hot Spring Villas measure 180m² and include separate living rooms and bedrooms, private gardens and hot spring tubs and gazebos, while the four Premier Hot Spring Villas spread across 270m² and offer the same facilities, plus private plunge pools. Finally the expansive 1,700m² Angsana Hot Spring Villa features five bedrooms, a private garden, indoor massage room, sauna and steam room, outdoor hot spring tub and a plunge pool.
The three-storey indoor Angsana Spa covers more than 17,000m² and houses six treatment rooms, a foot lounge, relaxation areas and sauna and steam rooms. A separate building houses volcanic hot stone loungers, which are naturally heated by the hot springs, and there are also four body scrub rooms and five spa treatment rooms. Guests can also book a large ‘cabana’ room for groups of up to 10 people. The resort also offers an outdoor hot spring area, which features 43 hot spring pools.
In addition to the wellness facilities, Angsana Tengchong features table tennis and snooker rooms, a swimming pool, conference room, and four food and beverage outlets including a Chinese restaurant with three private dining rooms.
Angsana Tengchong Hot Spring Village is the fourth Angsana resort to launch in China, and the second hot spring resort to be announced by Banyan Tree in recent weeks, following the Banyan Tree Chongqing Beibei, which also opens this summer.
