Jet Airways has joined the regional airline association known as the Arab Air Carriers Organisation (AACO) as the first partner airline. The association would help Jet Airways and the Arab airline members of AACO with opportunities to create synergies in areas such as fuel management, ground services, safety initiatives and training. The report noted that AACO was not a parallel global grouping of airlines such as Star Alliance, Oneworld or Skyteam. Nikos Kardassis, Chief Executive Office of Jet Airways, said “With our growing presence in the middle east, an opportunity to partner with Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) is an important one. This association is strategic to our continued success in this region.”According to a media statement, AACO is the regional association of the Arab Airlines who have their home base in country members of the Arab League, serves the Arab airlines, represent and defend their common interests regionally and globally, through creating joint frameworks. The report said AACO has 25 member airlines including Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways, Gulf Air, Kuwait Airways, Oman Air, Qatar Airways and Saudi Arabian Airlines. Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 97 aircraft, and flies to several West Asian destinations including Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Jeddah, Sharjah, Riyadh and Dammam.
