Singapore’s Far East Hospitality has announced a major revamp of its Village Hotels & Residences portfolio, with all hotels being combined under a common brand.
The project will see the renaming of all seven Village properties, while an eighth hotel opening later this year will also carry the new Village branding. In addition, refurbishments are being planned for six of the eight Village properties. The hotels will be renamed as follows:
Landmark Village Hotel to become Village Hotel Bugis
Albert Court Village Hotel to become Village Hotel Albert Court
Changi Village Hotel to become Village Hotel Changi
Central Square Village Residences to become Village Residence Clarke Quay
Riverside Village Residences to become Village Residence Robertson Quay
Hougang Village Residences to become Village Residence Hougang
West Coast Village Residences to become Village Residence West Coast
“Today’s generation of savvy guests want authentic, differentiated experiences,” said Arthur Kiong, Far East Hospitality’s chief executive officer. “The Village brand has always been about providing these unique, local experiences through harnessing the strengths of the locales, and our guests have consistently told us that they appreciate the localised Singapore experience that Village properties provide.
“As a home-grown hospitality brand, the Far East brand of hospitality is one that is Singapore-inspired and we are bringing this to life by having each Village property draw inspiration from the immediate surroundings to be infused into the guest experience,” he added.
The Village brand’s refurbishment plans include room upgrades at the Village Hotel Albert Court and Village Hotel Changi, improvements to the rooms, façades and poolside at the Village Residence Clarke Quay, work on the three-bedroom apartments at the Village Residence West Coast, and work on the façade and lobby at the Village Residence Hougang.
The refurbishment works are currently in progress and are scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. Also later this year, the Village brand will open its new flagship hotel, the Peranakan-inspired Village Hotel Katong.
Village hotels are located in Singapore’s cultural enclaves such as Kampong Glam, Little India and Robertson Quay. To help guests take explore these areas, Far East offers a range of cultural activities such as food tastings and local day trips, as well as offering free bicycle rental for guests to explore the surrounding area.
This summer, the company is also organising the Far East Heritage Festival, in an effort to boost cultural tourism in Singapore.
