Malindo Air will receive its fourth Boeing 737-900ER aircraft this week.

The new single-aisle aircraft took off from Boeing’s factory in Seattle on Monday and is due to arrive at Malindo’s home base in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday 26 June 2013, following stops in Hawaii and the Philippines. The aircraft will be used to launch a new route connecting KL with Tawau, on the east coast of Malaysia’s Sabah state.

The arrival will mark the second new aircraft to join Malindo’s fleet this month. On 10 June, the airline welcomed its third B737 which was used to launch flights to two destinations in Sarawak – Miri and Sibu.

Malindo operates its B737-900ER in a two-class configuration with 180 seats – 12 in business class and 168 in economy. Despite being a low-cost carrier, it also offers personal in-flight entertainment in each seat.
