Jet Airways has continued its experimentation with seat preference charges with the introduction of a fee for pre-selection
of certain seats in economy class in Boeing 737 aircraft.
The airline will charge INR750 for first row of seats in the economy class and INR400 for aisle and window seats between rows 11-15. The fee will be applicable on the airline’s route from India to Middle East, Southeast Asia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
For now, Air India is the only international airline in the country not to charge extra for choice of seats.
