Aircraft manufacturer Airbus has reinforced its strategic partnership with VSMPO-AVISMA by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that will cover the development, processing and recycling of titanium.
The deal was signed at the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2013.
The MoU will see the companies develop new alloys and processes, which builds on the work the firms have partnered on over the last two decades.
Mikhail Voevodin, president and CEO of VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation said: “The history of the Airbus and VSMPO collaboration extends back over 20 years and is characterised by continuous expansion of business relations gradually moving from simple titanium semi-finished products to more complex items. This agreement is a new milestone in our cooperation – it is not only the support of Airbus production needs, but also joint development of advanced materials, alloys and processes for the current and potential projects of Airbus.”
