Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) and the Omani National Investment Funds Company SAOC (NIFCO) recently inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Al-Futtaim.

The MoU was inked for development and management of a planned super-regional mall in Muscat. The mall will be located adjacent to the proposed Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“During its development phases, the project will create many new employment opportunities for Omanis. Upon completion, the mall has the potential of becoming a key long-term employer across a variety of sectors – retail, marketing, sales, to catering and entertainment,” said HE Nasser bin Khamis Al Jashmi, chairman of Omran.

This super-regional mall will be designed to inject new impetus in the local job market. The new venue will also cater to growing retail and entertainment needs of Omanis.
